About Thomas P. Pohl, Attorney at Law

Tom Pohl is the founder and managing attorney of Pohl Law, Ltd., a Colorado-based law firm serving Eagle County and surrounding communities. He is also a Personal Family Lawyer® who believes estate planning should be about far more than documents—it should be about creating a plan that truly works when your family needs it most.

Tom earned his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Colorado Boulder, with an emphasis in finance and marketing. After graduating, he relocated to Eagle County, where he worked as a loan officer for a regional bank, focusing on business finance and real estate development. This early financial experience continues to shape the practical, thoughtful guidance he provides to clients today.

Driven to serve individuals and families in a more comprehensive way, Tom earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Denver Sturm College of Law. His practice focuses on disability and estate planning, real estate, and business and tax matters. Tom uses a counseling-based approach—what he calls Life & Legacy Planning®—to help clients understand their legal and financial reality, inventory their assets, and choose a plan aligned with their values, goals, and budget.

Rather than simply deciding between a will or a trust, Tom empowers clients to take control of their future, protect the people they love, and leave a lasting impact. Most importantly, his goal is to ensure families stay out of court and out of conflict, and that loved ones are never left with a mess or uncertainty during difficult times.

Outside the office, Tom is a devoted husband and father of two, and a proud dog and cat owner. An avid skier and outdoor enthusiast, he embraces the Colorado lifestyle and is deeply invested in his community. He currently serves as a board member for Mountain Recreation and Mountain Youth, reflecting his commitment to supporting local families and creating strong communities.
